Help us to thank our fantastic team of volunteers!

LifeLines have been supporting older people in Brighton and Hove for over a decade. We find volunteers with a passion for sharing what they love and match them to people who want new and interesting things to be doing: something physical, musical, creative or purely social. Our volunteers also support people on a 1-to-1 basis, accompanying them to important health appointments or other activities like our Silver Circle project, where they help people use technology to find things they're interested in, connect with others, or join fun online groups. We can even loan out tablets with internet connection included for people to use.

During the lockdown our volunteers have supported older people in Brighton in new ways - by shopping for those who are shielding, making befriending calls and running activities on Zoom. We also had many new volunteers join us, some from the local Southern Water and American Express branches.

Now, post-lockdown, our volunteers will be supporting people who haven't been out in a while and are lacking in confidence. Helping support them getting back out into the community and gain new confidence, new skills and making meaningful connections.
