Hello!
My name is Becca and I am a young leader at Lifespace as well as a member of our Youth Advisory Panel.
Lifespace is a charity based in Stratford upon Avon that aims to support the well-being of young people across Warwickshire through 1:1 mentoring, group activities and opportunities that allow young people to gain life skills, build confidence, independence and resilience.
Having been mentored myself I understand the importance that our mentoring has for young people. That's why I'm raising money for Lifespace to help even more young people get the support they need! For me having someone to talk gave me a safe space where I knew I wouldn’t be judged and I knew no issue I brought up was too small or too big. It allowed me to focus more in lessons as I no longer had to bottle up my anxiety, I knew that each week I could release my emotion in a space where I wouldn’t be judged. Not only this but my mentor provided me with tools to help me get through difficult situations and I couldn’t be more grateful for that. I would even say that without my mentoring I would not have been able to sit my exams!
This year we will be celebrating our 21st birthday! With these celebrations we will be hosting some incredible fundraising events so we can continue to reach and support as many young people as possible which without your ongoing support we would not be able to do.
We invite you to join in with our fundraising efforts from dress down days to cake sales or even challenging yourselves to completing a sponsored walk of 21 laps around your school field! Other events you could do are talent shows, after school movie nights or a teachers vs student’s sport match. We would love to hear from you and see your amazing fundraising activities.
We would also like to invite you to join us for Lifespace 21! A sponsored walk which will be taking place on Sunday 29th June.
There are 3 routes designed for all abilities and will end at Stratford Youth Collective’s youth hub for a celebration of 21 years of us (and of course a BBQ) Whether you’re an avid walker or want to join us at the youth hub for some food at the end we would love to see as many people there to celebrate with. We will be sharing our stories and taking an opportunity to thank Lifespace and it's team for all they do.
Routes: • 21 miles starting at Long Compton• 21 kilometres starting at Little Honington• 2.1 mile accessible route along the Greenway Stratford.
I truly believe that any young person would benefit with this mentoring but we can’t continue to reach more people and schools without your help.
