This is our 2025 onward donation page...we have to raise circa £350,000 annually through grants and donations to support the work we do. Your help to do this through gifts and donations is very much appreciated.
The Lighthouse Project offers people hope, and practical help and support. It is a safe and welcoming space in the heart of its community; an innovative multi-purpose community hub providing lots of integrated activities and services, offering help, advice, guidance, friendship, skills, and crisis support.
It is part of Inspire Middleton, a community development charity with a vision to inspire people, places and organisations in and around Middleton, making it a better place to live, work and visit.
The people part of the charity’s vision is achieved through the work of the Lighthouse Project, which also hosts other projects including Middleton Central Foodbank, Lighthouse Pantry, Lighthouse Money Advice, and other related activities and support groups.
Most things are provided free of charge, or at a small modest cost to ensure that they are accessible to all.
The Lighthouse typically supports between 33,000 – 35,000 visits to the centre per year offering things that make a practical difference in peoples lives, such as free internet access, employability support, food and crisis intervention, social groups and leisure activities. We also have multiple rooms available for hire so that other groups can be collocated with us delivering their community services within the centre.
Inspire Middleton is a self-funded charity meaning we have to raise all the money we need to continue delivering our services from grants, gifts, fundraising, and regular donations. We are not government or council run, but are run by local people, for local people.
Your donations will be contribute towards our frontline services and activities. Our investment in people really makes a difference in their lives, and whilst we value to grant funding that contributes to our work, our long-term desire is to become less grant dependent so that we don’t get trapped in grant funding cycles and can have the freedom to meet the local needs that are important to us. This is where you support and donations can help.
In the 15 years since the Lighthouse has been open (2025) we have seen over 370,000 visits through our doors, and changed the lives of 1,000’s of people in big and little ways. We try to fill the gaps in local services so that everyone has a change to thrive and succeed.
We are local people with a passion to make a difference in our community, and with your help we can do this, we can see things change, and can make a difference in the lives of so many individuals and families.
