URGENT- Support Likkle Swimmers Staff in Treasure Beach After Hurricane Beryl (will be live for 10 days)
Last week, on Wednesday, July 3rd, Hurricane Beryl tore through Jamaica. The eye of the Category 4 hurricane passed directly over Treasure Beach, where our Likkle Swimmers lessons are held. The community has been devastated, with homes demolished and essential services like water and electricity currently unavailable.
We are raising funds to help our Likkle Swimmers staff in Treasure Beach. They are our drivers Pete and Mario; our teachers Javin, Shane, Freddy, Everton, Janoi, Dajay, Connie, Jonesia and Amy; and then our pool assistants Rebecca, Shanna-Kay, and Nittia.
They all need our support to rebuild their homes, replace destroyed or soaked mattresses and furniture, and purchase other essential items. Two of our staff members have four-month-old twins to care for, while many others also have young children in their families. Some staff are housing neighbors whose homes were destroyed, leading to overcrowded living conditions. Many have lost their roofs, leaving their belongings ruined, and all are without power.
The community has come together to provide shelter and assistance, but our staff and their families need additional help to rebuild their lives. Your donation will go directly toward helping them restore their homes and support their families during these challenging months.
Please help us support our dedicated team. Your kindness and generosity will make a significant difference in their lives.
Thank you,
Charlotte and the Likkle Swimmers Team
