Story
LINKES is a community-led charity based in the multi-storey flats in the heart of our neighbourhood. Established by local residents and for local residents, LINKES remains governed by people who live in the area and understand its strengths, challenges, and potential.
We’re a very small charity, and we’re working in an increasingly challenging funding climate, which makes your support more important than ever. That makes your support even more appreciated.
Each year, Linkes supports around 1,000 people living on the Lincoln Avenue estate in NW Glasgow — a diverse community in the lowest 5% of SIMD in Scotland. We work alongside refugees, families living in overcrowded housing, and individuals affected by poverty and disadvantage.
Our community is vibrant and full of life. We run groups and activities for everyone from babies to seniors, alongside our community shop and garden. Together, these create opportunities for people to connect, learn, and play. We also provide advice and practical support for challenging issues, including food and fuel poverty.
Every donation will directly support our community-building activities on the Lincoln estate. For example, it could help pay for youth and play workers to keep our youth club running. And remember, for every £100 raised, Kiltwalk adds an extra £25 — so every single donation goes even further.
