Conflict in the Ukraine Appeal

Following the terrible events in Ukraine, which has resulted in thousands of people killed and injured and millions more fleeing for their lives, Lions Clubs are looking for donations for their Refugees and Displaced Persons fund.

We are dedicated to help the local people of Wellesbourne, Ettington, Combrook, Moreton Morrell, Lighthorne, Kineton, Barford and all communities in between. Something we’ve been doing for nearly 50 years! Thank you so much for helping us to help our communities.

On Thursday 24th February 2022 Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine that has resulted in thousands of people being killed and injured, and millions more fleeing for their lives. Lions Clubs are looking for donations for their Refugees and Displaced Persons fund.

Lions are now working with leadership in each country receiving these displaced people to develop a project plan for Lions Club International Fund (LCIF) to support Lion-led distribution of immediate needs. Care packages will include food, water, hygiene items, and clothing.

After these initial grants, LCIF will continue to work with other Lions in the adjacent and surrounding countries to evaluate needs, and the potential for Lions to help.

Normally, during a crisis like this, Wellesbourne and District Lions would be out in the local community, rattling buckets to help raise funds to help bring relief to those affected. Please help us as we join other Lions clubs to raise funds online. Every penny you can spare will go to the Lions in the countries involved and will help us to bring relief where it is needed.
