In 2021, we launched our ‘Winter Warmth’ project to help local low-income families who struggle to pay their fuel bills. Some families have to choose between heating their home and feeding their family, especially with escalating fuel costs and now some pensioners will loose their Winter Fuel allowance. By working with Maidenhead Citizen’s Advice, households in need are identified and the fuel providers paid directly. In the last two years Maidenhead Lions have given almost £10000 to families in need to help with their fuel bills.
