FAIRHEAD ABSEIL 2026

Take on one of Northern Irelands most dramatic challenges and help support children and families at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.

On 20 June 2026, supporters of Little Heroes will step to the edge of the iconic Fairhead cliffs in Ballycastle and take on an unforgettable abseil challenge in support of a cause that matters deeply to so many families across Northern Ireland.

This is more than an adrenaline challenge.

It is about choosing to do something difficult in support of children and families facing situations far harder than stepping over the edge of a cliff.

WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

When a child is admitted to hospital, life changes instantly for the whole family.

Parents often arrive unexpectedly, focused entirely on their child, without time to prepare for overnight stays, long journeys or extended treatment. In those moments, practical support matters.

Little Heroes works closely with the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children to provide immediate support where it is needed most. This includes comfort items for children, essential care items for parents staying at their childs bedside, and equipment that helps hospital staff deliver the best possible care.

These may seem like small things, but during some of the hardest days a family will ever face, they can make a real difference.

WHAT YOUR FUNDRAISING COULD HELP PROVIDE

£25 could help provide essential toiletries and care items for a parent staying unexpectedly in hospital.

£100 could help fund comfort items and activities for children during treatment.

Larger donations can contribute towards equipment and ward support that directly improves patient care and family experience

TAKE ON THE CHALLENGE

Participants will descend more than 90 feet down the breathtaking Fairhead cliffs overlooking the North Coast.

No previous experience is needed. Full safety equipment and professional guidance will be provided on the day.

Participants are asked to raise a minimum of £250 by Sunday 7 June 2026. This helps us cover the cost of delivering the event so that as much as possible of the money raised goes directly towards supporting children and families.
