UPDATED TARGET TO MEET DEMAND
Due to the demand for Be Free Campaign’s support sessions, we are increasing our appeal target to £1,000. This would cover the costs of around 10 additional 90-minute programmes, supporting up to 50 young people directly impacted by the incident.
As a team of five, Be Free Campaign has been working all week to ensure that adequate support is given to those who need it the most.
What We Achieved Within 24 Hours:
Immediately launched a support interest form for young people affected
Developed a 90-minute support session for 11–25-year-olds, clinically validated and ready for delivery
Had 20 individuals register interest for immediate mental health support
What We Achieved Within 48 Hours:
Delivered the first session to a group of 13, with feedback like:
“The rumination is real. They’ve just not been themselves. This has been really good.”
Signposted 2 individuals to longer-term mental health services
Received urgent requests from local schools and community centres asking for additional sessions for their young people.
To quote Shantanu Kundu, founder and CEO:
“This week, young people found space to talk, to feel, and to begin making sense of what happened. Some came with fear, others with questions, but all left knowing they were heard. I’m overwhelmed by the support we have had across the country and I am incredibly proud of our team who have been working really hard this week.”

Be Free Campaign are deeply concerned by the images and videos circulating from an incident that took place following the LFC Parade on Monday the 26th of May.
In response to this incident, Be Free Campaign will be running a mental health and wellbeing session for children and young people who feel impacted in any way. Sessions will be free to attend for all without the need for a referral.
We are therefore launching an urgent appeal to raise funds to support these sessions. From providing free lunch and transport for all children and young people attending to covering the costs of this programme.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated and go directly towards supporting the children and young people impacted by these recent events. If you can assist with space for these sessions or provide gifts in kind to support young people impacted, please contact becca.tomlinson@befreecampaign.org directly.
