Story
🍂 This autumn we’ll be hosting our first yoga based fundraising event at Live Well North East followed by a community brunch for everyone!
☀️ On Sept 12th, we have places for up to 16 yogi’s to undertake the equinox sunrise tradition of practicing 108 rounds of sun salutations!
(There are 10 spots left)
🤩 This practise is dynamic, energising, detoxifying, a moving meditation and for some, a beautiful way to reconnect to your sense of soul/spirit
💌 Those taking part in this ancient equinox practice will be raising money for The Live Well Centre and it's community activities.
💞 Please like, share, invite your friends, family, yoga teachers and anyone else who you think would like to join in
Each person will complete 108 rounds of Sun Salutations, taking approximately 3 hours to complete - this is no easy thing and will invite personal willpower, determination and self-belief!
About the event.
108 rounds of Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar) is a deep routed yogic tradition carried out at the solstice and equinoxes, that honours the sun and celebrates the change of season.
It is a dynamic flowing sequence of 12 yoga poses, that a typical yoga class might offer 4-6 rounds of. Practicing 108 rounds is much more advanced and physically demanding, therefore could be likened to a running a marathon!
