Taking on the London Marathon for Brighterway and making a difference for our community
I've always wanted to complete the London Marathon and, after several unsuccessful attempts through the public ballot, I was delighted to secure a charity place with Brighterway. As a charity closely linked to both my local community and the organisation I work for, I knew it was an opportunity I couldn't miss.
Having recently completed my degree, it felt like the perfect time to take on a new challenge. Running 26.2 miles will be a first for me. I've previously completed a half marathon and swum to the Isle of Wight, so I know this journey will push me both physically and mentally, but I'm excited to see what I can achieve.
My nine-year-old daughter is also very excited and is already planning to ride her bike alongside me as I train. She's even come up with some fundraising ideas of her own, making this challenge a real family effort.
Most importantly, I'm proud to be raising money for Brighterway. Working within the NHS, I see first-hand the difference that additional support, opportunities and resources can make to patients, service users, carers and families. That's why I'm delighted to support a charity that helps provide those opportunities across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Thank you to everyone who supports me along the way. Every donation and message of encouragement will help make a difference and keep me motivated as I work towards the finish line. 💙🏃♀️
