Story
The 2 bells in St Saeran's Llanynys have sung out from the church for nearly 350 years but sadly have now become dangerous and have had to be removed for safety. We'd like to hear them ring out once more and so we are looking to have them repaired and re-hung, can you help us raise the funds necessary to ensure they ring out for next 350 years?
The bells were made by Thomas Roberts of Shrewsbury. The smaller bell is hung in the southernmost opening, it has a diameter of 684 mm, weighs approximately 230 Kg and is inscribed “GOD SAVE HIS CHVRCH 1681” The larger bell has a diameter of 757 mm, weighs approximately 280 Kg and is inscribed “RICHERD HVGHES EDWARD IONES WARDENS 1684”
