We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

This Autumn, LNER are supporting the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) with their very own Walk for CALM.

CALM are taking a stand against suicide. This means standing against feeling rubbish, standing up to stereotypes, and standing together to show life is always worth living.

125 lives are lost every week to suicide. And 75% of all UK suicides are male. CALM exists to change this.

CALM do it by provoking conversation, running life-saving services, and bringing people together so they reject living miserably, get help when they need it and don't die by suicide.

In 2021, CALM answered over 155,000 calls and webchats. That's more than 1 million minutes of talking to people who need them. This achievement has only been possible thanks to the generosity of CALM's extraordinary supporters.

CALM is there for everyone struggling with life, no matter who they are, where they're from or what they're going through. Whether that be mental health issues, debt, addiction, job loss, divorce, homelessness, they've got your backs.

It costs just £8 to fund a potentially life saving call or webchat. Stand with LNER and CALM and help us save lives.
