In 2022, Nigel Smith, a Lead Planner, nominated YoungMinds which is the UK’s leading charity fighting for young people’s mental health for our Charity of the Year. Nigel, who with four grandchildren, was concerned about the mental health of young people in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Nigel commented, “Mental health is a massive issue and underfunded across the board. Young people are like sponges. If what they are soaking up at such a young age is negative or fear related, it can’t be a good outcome further down the line, especially for children from less well-off or troubled backgrounds. It is important to continue supporting YoungMinds as it is an organisation that is committed to improving the mental health of children and young people, including support for parents and carers.”
We are delighted to announce that since selecting YoungMinds back in 2022, our employees have voted to make a longer-term commitment to the cause and have chosen YoungMinds as our Corporate Charity for 2024-27. By committing to three years of support for the charity, we hope to make a more significant impact in terms of contributions and also education around mental health.
The whole of LocatED would like to take this opportunity to firstly thank everyone for all the support throughout the year and to say how proud we are to be part of this movement that is actively fighting for the future of all young people in need of mental health support. Together, we can truly make a difference.
We are pleased to report that we smashed our 2023-24 fundraising target of £1,500. We raised an amazing £4,723 and we definitely would not have been able to achieve these results without your continued support and generosity.
