St. Nicholas Foundation, founded on the belief that Every Child Deserves an Education, runs a school in Tema New Town, Ghana. Our mission is to improve, through education, the lives of local children living in abject poverty, ensuring a better future for them and their families. The school provides pre-school, primary and junior education, but our aim is to see children through their secondary education too - a new annex is currently being built to achieve this. 100% of all donations go to the Foundation.

Story

A petit peleton comprising Andreas Bisbas of Tsakos Shippings London office, Simon Smart of Tysers, Harry Wathen and Rodney Cook of A. Bilbrough & Co, managers of the London P&I Club, will cycle from London to Paris on 27th and 28th September in pursuit of sponsorship to raise funds for the St Nicholas School in Tema, Ghana. The school was conceived and built by Tsakos people in a very deprived and impoverished area outside the port and is financed by fundraising events, sponsorship and donations. 120 children are currently being educated from the age of five and new classrooms are required each year in order to continue their education until they reach eighteen years of age.

In addition to academic studies, all the children have access to medical attention and receive two meals per day.

Please support us on our bike ride and help us towards our goal of breaking the cycle of poverty by providing an education for these children.
