A passionate animal welfare charity working in and around Yorkshire. Saving the lives of 100's of dogs and cats every single year from desperate need from cruelty, abuse, neglect and often facing being destroyed in the stray kennels. We are there to help cats dumped on the street.

Story

We all dream of having the perfect Christmas, safe and warm at home, surrounded by loved ones and making lots of happy memories. We know however that the reality can be so very different, especially for the many cats and dogs abandoned in the harshest of winter months.

Heavily pregnant cat Wendy knows all too well what it means to be homeless in winter. Found living in a feral colony, she had likely been waiting for someone to love her all her life. Sadly she lost three of her kittens at birth, but she nursed the surviving two; Fenella and Rosie lovingly. Once they were old enough they quickly found loving homes, leaving Wendy behind and overlooked again. This sweet girl is now free from pain but still patiently waiting to know what it feels like to be loved by a family of her own.

Senior boy Tramp can't speak for himself but somehow his eyes tell his story. The story of abandonment. Found tied to a lamp post and just left there. No food, no shelter, no hope. He needed to learn to trust again and with your donations and the help from the team at Rain Rescue he did just that. Tramp will have his Christmas wish to be cherished once more by a family that love him, as he's now settled in his new home.

There are so many more like Tramp and Wendy who need our help. Your donation will mean we can say yes to helping other cats and dogs in crisis, so they don't have to know what it means to be lonely this Christmas.
