Story
Some of us will be celebrating Valentine's Day with the special person in our life, while others may be spending it with friends or on our own.
Thousands of older people in the UK will be spending Valentine's Day alone, just the same as every other day.
Donating the cost of a Valentine's meal or a bottle of wine to Age UK Solihull will help us support lonely older people who need us most.
Our Linking People Together Service offers befriending and social clubs for older people who live alone in Solihull, with no family or other support nearby.
This is a real lifeline to older people who have no other social interaction.
Having my Befriender to visit has made a big difference to my life.
I've known my volunteer for nine years and we've built up a good friendship over this time.
Every donation can help us to continue to make a difference to older people who have no one else to turn to.
