Story
The Louise Smalley Challenge Walk is a beloved annual tradition—an incredible 40-mile route through the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, undertaken each year in memory of Louise Smalley. What began as a tribute has grown into a community-driven challenge that raises thousands of pounds for worthy causes.
This year, we’re thrilled and honoured to announce that Tiny Tickers has been chosen as the beneficiary of the 2025 walk.
Tiny Tickers is a small UK charity with a big mission: to give babies with serious heart conditions a better start in life. Every year in the UK, around 1 in every 125 babies is born with a congenital heart defect. Tiny Tickers works to improve early detection, diagnosis, and care for these babies by providing specialist training for sonographers, placing life-saving equipment in maternity units, and supporting families through the most difficult of times.
The funds raised through this year’s Louise Smalley Challenge Walk will help Tiny Tickers reach more families, save more lives, and ensure that no baby with a serious heart condition faces their journey without the best possible chance.
Whether you’re lacing up your boots to take on the full 40 miles or supporting from the sidelines, your contribution will make a meaningful difference. Thank you for helping us turn every step of this incredible walk into hope for heart babies across the UK.
