Our engaging and creative programmes let children reinvent themselves as successful learners. The impact will last throughout their time at school and beyond.
We are focused on the enjoyment of reading and writing and building their confidence as readers and writers, allowing children to transfer their new skills into the classroom. We publish and celebrate children's work throughout the programme, giving them the opportunity to become book authors, journalists and film writers and a lasting sense of achievement.
We offer both on-line and in-person programmes; this hybrid approach makes us flexible to meet demand. Led by experienced teachers and supported by trained volunteers, sessions provide one to one and small group attention to our 'Young Pirates'. By welcoming them into our joyful spaces and celebrating all of their effort, we boost their literacy skills, confidence and perseverance.
Last year, we supported 385 number of children. This upcoming year, we will work 450 children from six London boroughs.
