Story

A team of thirteen from Mortgage Advice Bureau are thrilled to be taking on the Break Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge 2024 as part of their commitment to raise funds for Break to help change the lives of care experienced young people.

N.B. Fundraising also includes the funds raised by Ollie and Stephen's triple challenge of the Cambridge Half, Norfolk Marathon and Yorkshire Three Peaks! https://www.justgiving.com/team/MAB1 (currently £1755 090524)

Stephen Alger, Business Principal for Mortgage Advice Bureau, said: “We enjoy getting involved in local causes and are thrilled to be taking on a real challenge, with staff from across the business taking part. We are delighted to be able to give Break some much needed support at this time. As a team of 16 staff from across the business - from Directors to Financial Advisors and Administrators - we are all going to be working hard on our training and getting to 'peak' fitness for this challenge."

We are thrilled to be taking on this challenge - we have started training now and will be going all over Christmas and into the New year to get ourselves in the 'peak' of fitness!”

This demanding one-day trekking challenge will take in the summits of Pen-y-Ghent (694m/2,276 ft), Whernside (736m/2,415 ft) and Inglebor-ough (723m/2,372 ft), all in one circular route starting and ending in Horton-in-Ribblesdale.

Make no mistake this is a tough challenge with up to 1700m of ascent, 39.2km in distance, all to be accomplished within 12hrs. So, requiring an average walking speed of 3.5km/hr!

Sarah Bunn, Fundraising Manager at Break, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that the team from Mortgage Advice Bureau are taking on this challenge with us - it will not be easy, but we all know the huge difference their support will mean to the young people we support. Sponsor them today please and help get them over the peak of their target!”

Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) has worked with Break for a number of years, including getting involved with the GoGoTrails in Norwich and hosting a superb golf day each June, helping to raise thousands to make a step change to the lives of young care experienced people.

With more than 2,000 advisers across the UK, MAB offer expert mortgage advice on a local, regional and national level to UK consumers, both face-to-face and over the phone.

The expert advice they offer, combined with the volume of mortgages that are arranged, places MAB in a very strong position to ensure that their customers have access to the latest deals available and receive a first-class service..
