Story
Moseley Ashfield Cricket Club have taken on many difficult opponents over the 120 years we have been playing cricket in our beloved Moseley. However, none have threatened our very existence.
Having tragically lost one of our own players to the COVID-19 virus, we appreciate that this is first and foremost a public health crisis.
However, our club sadly faces its own crisis
We have been blown away by the support shown so far. Thank you to everyone who has donated and ensured we are able to start the season. Even with the return of some cricketing activities, we still face a cash shortfall and this historic club, that has been integral to the lives of generations of Moseley families, may not survive.
We know that these are difficult times for everybody. But if you can, please make a donation and help ensure that cricket is played in Moseley for many more summers to come.
About the club
The club provides opportunities to play cricket for people of all backgrounds, ages and abilities. We run four adult mens teams on Saturdays, and one on a Sunday. We have a thriving youth section with all age groups catered for from under 9's to under 17's, as well as running ECB 'Get into Cricket' programmes such as All Stars for younger children.
We have recently launched a womens team and a cricket development programme for women and girls. In addition to the clubs own cricket programmes, our two grounds on Yardley Wood Road and Britannic Park are used by a wide range of schools and community-based cricket teams.
We also host a successful midweek business league and we are the adopted home of the Old Moseley Arms cricket team.
This community amenity will be lost if the club does not survive this current crisis
