Even though were still socially distancing, it doesnt have to mean we should feel distance from each other and the causes we care about. Why not turn your favourite charity trek, run or bike ride into a virtual challenge so you can continue to fundraise and train at home!
Were asking you to move 5k in 5 days and donate £5.00 to support the Mace Foundation and nominate 5 people to do the challenge! The challenge will begin on Monday 20 July 2020.
We want you to be as creative as possible on how you complete your 5k; will you be running 5k dressed as your favourite superhero or creating a mini Olympics at home? Its entirely up to you.
5k too easy? Why not step it up and climb the equivalent height of your favourite mountain on your stairs or steps at home. Did you know 38,680 steps is like climbing Kilimanjaro which is 5895m. Or do 5k every day for 5 days.
How do I take part in Mace's 5k in 5 days challenge?
It is super easy to get involved. All you need to do is follow the below steps:
1. Decide what virtual challenge you and/or your household/team would like to take part in and take note of how many steps or what distance is required to complete the challenge.
2. Email macefoundation@macegroup.com to let them know you're taking part
3. Make your donation here and include who you are nominating in the comments box
. Don't forget to tell them they have been nominated!
4. Ensure you have an option to track your performance. There are multiple options on the market, we have selected a few of our favourites below: Fitbit, Strava, Map My Walk, Map My Run, Steps App, RunKeeper, Apple Watch, Apple Health, and Google Fit
5. Start the challenge on Monday 20 July 2020 and share your progress with us on social media. Dont forget to tag @macegroup and use hashtag #maces5kin5days and upload your photographs/videos of your progress
6. Once you have completed the challenge, share the fitness app or phone screenshot with mace.foundation@macegroup.com and we will send you your certification of completion.
