WE DID IT!
At MAD4Africa we believe that every child, no matter their abilities or circumstances, deserves the chance to learn, grow, and dream. MAD4Africa is a 100% volunteer-run UK registered charity with projects in healthcare and education in Rwanda and Uganda.
Experienced climbers and incredible MAD4Africa supporters, Mark Hutchison and Gary Young are leading a Ben Nevis Summer Solstice Climb on 21 June 2025. Our aim is to raise money for the following projects: -
- Our Ugandan Education Fund has built primary school classrooms at Hilltop Primary School and provided four students with schooling, medical and living support for over 10 years. Please help us continue this work and give the young people above, who do not have parents, the skills to earn a living and build a safe and happy life.
ASFA Physiotherapy Centre, Rwanda provides physiotherapy and occupational therapy inpatient services to children with disabilities and adult/child outpatient care. The centre employs 15 local staff who deliver high standards of clinical care in a stimulating and nurturing environment where potential is unlocked, learning happens, and hope can be restored.
- Our Umuhanga Education Fund, Rwanda offers scholarships to school students who have been offered a place at one of Rwanda’s prestigious government boarding schools or universities, but do not have the financial means to accept the offer. Moving a young person out of poverty through education is life-changing for the student and their family and rewarding for those who support their journey.
Your support doesn't just fund projects — it changes lives. It means a child gets a scholarship to continue their education. It means a classroom or library gets built, a child has books to read, and a teacher has learning resources. It means a mother can see her disabled child receive the care and education she never thought possible and a child starts can start their own journey towards independence.
We know the challenges are big. But as our motto reminds us:
"If you think you’re too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito!"
One small act of generosity can spark a lifetime of change.
Together, we can transform futures, strengthen communities, and show these children that they are seen, valued, and valued members of their communities.
When we work together, nothing is impossible so please support us by joining us on the walk (click on the start fundraising page above) or donate today.
Thank you so much - your support is hugely appreciated.
