Too many children are left vulnerable to grooming and being led down dangerous paths, which ultimately lead to devastating outcomes.

Make It Stop was founded by Romilla Arber and Pastor Lorraine Jones-Burrell in 2023, with the aim to fundamentally change the way knife crime was being tackled.

Politically expedient actions had been the approach from government previously, none of which have had a meaningful effect on the number of incidences, that often resulted in tragic loss of life. Make It Stop decided that the community needed to take control of the agenda and force change that way. Too many lives have been lost and too many futures wasted. A multi solution approach needs to be adopted and the acceptance that there are in the region of 100 solutions, 100 pieces needs to be adopted by all. Make It Stop is a nationwide campaign piloting in the London Boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark, partnering with local grassroots organisations to deal with the causes and consequences of knife crime, targeting those in greatest need and in turn establishing the root cause of the problems via a long term considered approach.

As part of our 100 piece, 100 solution strategy, Make It Stop have formed a coalition of grassroots organisations in Lambeth, each specifying in different areas of youth intervention and mentoring. Your donation will help us to fund and run a comprehensive youth intervention programme for 13 year old children at risk of criminal exploitation and involvement in knife violence. There are many youth programmes and workshops out there, however none that are as long term and focussed as ours. With your help we will be able to provide a comprehensive programme spanning a year, involving sports, mental wellbeing, life skills, parental guidance, employability training and more.

To deliver this program in early 2025, piloting in one school, we need £50,000. If 10,000 of us gave just £5 each, we can reach our target.
