Story
Simon is well on his way to completing 52 marathons in 52 weeks, to raise awareness of mental health and raise vital funds for the Community Sports Foundation who have helped him through his journey.
Last year Simon needed to take some time off work last year to focus on his mental health, and he wanted to challenge himself with something meaningful. Walking has always helped Simon, so he decided to turn that into something bigger.
People can relate to this distance and the challenges it presents, It’s far enough to be a real challenge, but not so far that it becomes unmanageable. Every time Simon sets out on a walk, he covers at least a full marathon distance — and completes it in one go, not spread over two or three days.
Simon has been a long-term supporter of the Foundation for many years, taking part in numerous challenges alongside the team — including the Three Peaks Challenge and the Coastal Walk Challenge, to name just a few. His ongoing dedication and passion for helping others through achieving their personal goals and challenges shine through in everything he does.
Fundraising is now live for this incredible physical and mental challenge, Simon wanted to hold off until later in the year to launch this campaign as he felt that asking for sponsorship after just a few marathons might not have had the same impact. With over 40 marathons already completed, Simon has proven his commitment and determination to see this challenge through. Now, as he nears the final stretch, your support means more than ever — to Simon and to the Foundation.
Every donation, big or small, will help the Community Sports Foundation continue their vital work and show Simon just how much his efforts are appreciated and will help him get over that finish line!
