Sadly, due to a recent accident Martin was not able to take part in this event. If you know him personally you will know that this was devastating to him as he was SO determined to complete the 10K.

Once he's recovered he's adamant he'll take part in a similar event instead, hopefully towards the end of the year.

The National Animal Welfare Trust in Bedfordshire cares for and rehomes upwards of 200 animals a year. Running a centre with this many animals obviously has high running costs, and fundraising is vital for us to continue to help the numbers of animals that we do. Especially as we've been experiencing an increase in the need for our support following lockdown and the cost of living crisis, so right now money is being stretched further than ever!

Martin is one of the incredible employees at NAWT Bedfordshire who works tirelessly to look after the centre as his role as maintenance assistant. Martin has chosen to run the Twilight 10K at the Bedford Running Festival on the 7th of September to and that the funds he raises will go to the animals at NAWT's Bedfordshire centre.
