Chasing the Moon for Bright Futures: Run for Education in Masiphumelele
Running under the London lights to ignite learning in Cape Town
On 7th October 2026, a dedicated team will take to Battersea Park, running under the night sky for the Chase the Moon Battersea 10K.
Every step they take in London is connected to a child’s journey thousands of miles away in South Africa.
We are running to raise vital funds for Masicorp, supporting life-changing educational programmes in the township of Masiphumelele, Cape Town, South Africa. In isiXhosa, Masiphumelele means "Let us succeed". With your support, we can help an entire community do exactly that.
The Challenge: Overcoming Barriers to Success
Masiphumelele is a vibrant, resilient community of over 40,000 residents, but families here face immense systemic challenges. With youth unemployment sitting at critical levels, access to high-quality, structured education is the most powerful route out of poverty.
Local schools are severely overcrowded. At Ukhanyo Primary School, teachers work tirelessly to support nearly around 1900 children. Without targeted intervention, many young learners risk falling behind in crucial foundational skills like English literacy and mathematics.

The English Hub: Equipping teachers and supporting over children to build the vital language and literacy skills they need to progress through school.
The Maths Lab: A dynamic, interactive space reaching hundreds of students, replacing rote learning with hands-on problem solving, coding clubs, and educational games.
