This campaign is a real challenge!

Matt Jones a friend of Amicii is about to compete in the Race Across France A 2500km (over 1550miles) race from the North to the South of France over 10 days.

Heres what Matt has to say

"My name is Matt Jones and Im an ultra-endurance cycling athlete who has spent the best part of the last ten years competing. I completed 10 Ironman triathlons over 6 years up until Covid, along with ultra marathons and various other races. My goal from the start was always to get to Race across America (RAAM) the world hardest cycling race, which I qualified for last year at an ultra-cycling race across Northern Ireland and Ireland, called The Joe Barr 500. With that goal in mind this year I am approaching a challenge called Race Across France, which is a self-supported 2500km cycling race from the north to the south of France, following the internal border, crossing various terrains including the Alps. Once the starting gun goes you have 10 days to reach the finish line. Im a normal working guy, with a normal job, I get up to train at 4.30am every day, sometimes twice a day, and I love doing extraordinary (some say stupid) races/events. With this challenge (and RAAM hopefully next year) in mind I thought it time to give something back and raise money to something as close to my heart as anything. My dogs. I have three rescue dogs, Ode, Hal and Sherlock, and now Dewi (who is Hals puppy). Ode and Hal were rehomed through Amicii. These guys do amazing work, are all volunteers, working in their own time, using their own fuel and their own money. Every dog they save and bring over to the UK deserves its forever happy home, and a family who loves them. Just like my boys Through that transition period from rescue to rehoming, Amicii feed, home, transport, train, love and give everything the dog needs until their perfect match comes along. I couldnt live without my guys now, and without Amicii I wouldnt have found them. So, this is the absolute least I can do.

This is a VERY gruelling race and Matt would like to raise £1250 for Amicii, a mere 50p a km.
