I have chosen to walk the famous historic trail, The Ridgeway, known as Britain’s oldest road, to complete 50km in support of Willows Counselling & Training.
Just as counselling requires consistent effort and support, this 50km challenge highlights the reality that none of us can successfully walk this journey alone. This event resonates deeply with my personal experiences and aligns with my dedication to counselling and mental health advocacy. It's also symbolic of the path many of us walk in life, especially those facing mental health struggles. Willows Counselling Service is close to my heart because it's where I am training to become a counsellor. I have also personally sought counselling in my own life, and I've seen firsthand the transformational impact it can have.
I'm expecting the walk to take around 10 to 12 hours. I'm planning on a steady pace to complete the challenge safely and successfully. In preparation, I've been gradually increasing my distance and endurance through regular walks, yoga, and strength exercises. Mindfulness, breathwork, and a positive mindset will also be central to my approach on the day, helping me manage my physical and mental energy throughout the walk.
I am genuinely grateful for any support received. Every donation helps Willows Counselling Service continue its essential work in our community, ensuring accessible counselling support for anyone in need. Your encouragement, generosity, and belief in this cause make an incredible difference.
