Mayor of the City and District of St Albans, Councillor Jamie Day, is sleeping out for Open Door

Organised by Open Door St Albans

I'm Sleeping out for Open Door on Friday 8th November.

Open Door, has supported over 7,000 people who have experienced homelessness and been at risk of sleeping rough. The Charity funds the outreach and counselling services. We also run the Winter Beds Project each year, providing emergency Winter accommodation to ensure nobody needs to sleep rough.

Story

I'm Sleeping out for Open Door for one night.

However, this is not the reality for those who are homeless or rough sleeping. They face constant fear and uncertainty – not knowing where they will sleep or shower, how they will find food, stay warm or dry, or if their belongings will be safe. As I lay my head down for the night, I will think of those who endure this hardship on a daily basis. This is why the sponsorship raised is so vitally important to Open Door - to continue their vital services at the night shelter and Winter Beds Project, so that nobody needs to sleep rough.
