Your financial support towards the Molesey Boat Club (MBC) Junior Programme fleet improvement is critical. Our Head of Junior Rowing has identified an estimated £320,000 of required investment in equipment, Phase 1 & 2 which will cost £150,000 has the following aims:
We are increasing boats available to accommodate the increasing junior squad membership, to get every child out on the water.
We are improving the quality of boats available across all ages.
We need more and better quality boats for girls who make up 43% of our 2024/5 programme.
We are seeking to reduce the necessity to borrow boats and to secure improved performance at national and international competitions.
Phase 1: two quads, one each for the boys and girls and a set of sculling telemetry equipment
Phase 2: sculling blades, new coxed quad (girls), 2 singles, 2 doubles
Phase 3: two doubles, six singles, one coxed quad, two octuples
We cannot achieve this target without a massive effort on fundraising - we are embarking on this tough journey to improve the junior fleet and thank you for your generosity. We can't wait to 'paint it black' and allow the MBC Juniors to reach their full potential in the rowing world and beyond.
