Story
Friends of Burford, on behalf of Burford School, are delighted to announce that Marlow Bottom’s Annual Scarecrow Festival is back for its 7th year!
What started during Covid in 2020 has become a much-loved annual Marlow Bottom tradition, and we were thrilled that last year’s festival was recognised with a Marlow FM Hidden Gems Award for Best Event.
We are once again challenging the residents and businesses of Marlow Bottom to come up with their funniest and most creative scarecrows using everyday items you already have available. Your scarecrow can be any shape or size, as long as it is not offensive or particularly gruesome, and can be visibly displayed at the front of your property for the duration of the trail, from Sunday 25th October to Sunday 1st November 2026.
Scarecrow entries can be submitted any time between now and Tuesday 13th October. All entries submitted by the closing date will be included on the official Scarecrow Trail Map, copies of which will be available to buy locally during the festival. There are voting slips on the map for everyone following the trail to choose their favourite scarecrows.
To enter your scarecrow, please email your name and address to scarecrow@friendsofburford.org.uk.
We invite everyone taking part by displaying a scarecrow to make a donation through this page towards our charity for Burford School. Friends of Burford will donate 100% of the funds raised to the school, helping to fund school projects and improvements.
All Marlow Bottom residents and visitors are invited to enjoy the festival by following the trail around the village and voting for their favourites.
Thank you for supporting the Marlow Bottom Scarecrow Festival and helping us make our 7th year another fantastic one!
