Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with any terminal illness across the UK. Our nurses work night and day in people’s homes and our hospices offer specialist care. We also support people emotionally, provide practical information, and match them with trained volunteers.

Story

Plymouth Fundraising Group was formed in 2011, and have since become one of the biggest Fundraising Group in Devon, raising over £100,000 to help support local Marie Curie services.

The group meet regularly to discuss ideas, opportunities and enjoy a slice of cake!

There are ten members in the group, and a wide network of supporters and volunteers in Plymouth and the surrounding area, who help them raise money and raise awareness of services throughout the city. Whether organising collections, helping with events and managing their own, working with local corporates and groups, dropping off collection tins in shops.. the group are always busy and really enjoy helping those in the local community.

If you would like to join Plymouth Fundraising Group or volunteer with them, do send them a message on Connie.Thomas@mariecurie.org.uk

Since 2011, Marie Curie has set up Fundraising Groups across the UK to help raise money and awareness for the charity in their local area. They are a vital part of the Marie Curie family, raising a fantastic amount each year to help ensure we can keep supporting people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones. This is through our wide range of services including hospices, nursing, Information and Support services and research.
