Story
The Tommy Godwin Fundraising Group organise and run the Tommy Godwin Challenge sportive which was set up in 2013 to honour the memory of 1948 Olympic cycling medallist Tommy Godwin. Run entirely by volunteers all profits go to fund the West Midlands Marie Curie Hospice in Solihull where Tommy spent his last few days. So far we have raised over £93,000.
Since 2011, Marie Curie has set up Fundraising Groups across the UK to help raise money and awareness for the charity in their local area. They are a vital part of the Marie Curie family, raising a fantastic amount each year to help ensure we can keep supporting people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones. This is through our wide range of services including hospices, nursing, Information and Support services and research.
