A SMALL CHARITY WITH A REMARKABLE SPECIALISM

Medevac Frontline is a small British charity with a remarkable specialism. We do one thing: emergency pre-hospital care. Our volunteers are experienced UK paramedics and pre-hospital specialists who give their time and expertise to help ambulance and emergency services overseas prepare for - and respond to - some of the most difficult emergencies imaginable: earthquakes, mass-casualty incidents, conflict, collapsed buildings and hazardous environments.

We do not replace local emergency services. We strengthen them. We train their instructors, work alongside their crews and, when requested, provide specialist medevac support when existing services are overwhelmed. Our deliberately narrow focus means that the expertise we share is practical, specialist and directly relevant to the difficult pre-hospital environment.

We do not just deliver a course and leave

Our aim is to leave local emergency services stronger. We train instructors who can train their own crews, adapt learning to the realities they face, and build skills that remain in-country long after a Medevac Frontline team has returned home.

Examples of improvements in participant confidence following Medevac Frontline's North West Syria paramedic training programme for World Health Organisation include: +76% in mass casualty incident management, +189% in finger thoracostomy, 161% in chemical weapons injury treatment and 127% in head injury management.

Medevac Frontline became a registered charity in 2023. In a remarkably short time it has built a strong volunteer base of experienced clinicians and operational specialists who give their own time and expertise to humanitarian work overseas, while developing relationships with major institutions in humanitarian health.

WHY THAT MATTERS

Major institutions need credible specialist partners that can fill a defined gap. MFL’s narrow focus on emergency pre-hospital care is its strength: British frontline experience is shared with local services so that capability remains and grows after our volunteers return home.

Recognised within the international humanitarian system

Medevac Frontline is a partner in the World Health Organization-led Emergency Medical Team Initiative and is progressing through the new Specialist Care Team (SCT) Medevac verification pathway. The charity also has official-relations status with the United Nations. In 2026 Medevac Frontline announced a partnership with International SOS and Iqarus, strengthening the network around our specialist charitable capability.

And we keep our overhead deliberately lean

Medevac Frontline is powered by volunteers and partnerships. The charity currently carries no office, warehouse-storage or marketing costs. This lean structure helps focus scarce unrestricted income on readiness, equipment, training and enabling volunteers to share their expertise where overseas emergency services request support.

Ukraine: 127 instructors. A national multiplier.

OFFICIAL REQUEST • AUGUST 2026

Ukraine’s Ministry of Health asked Medevac Frontline to deliver specialist training to 127 instructors from the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) around the country.

This is the kind of request a small specialist charity can answer with disproportionate impact. We are not proposing to train 127 people and stop there. These are instructors: people who can take the learning back to their regions and pass it on to frontline crews again and again.

The programme focuses on the realities the Emergency Medical Service and State Emergency Services of Ukraine face everyday.

• Mass casualty incident management (pre-hospital) and triage.

• Crush injury and the medical consequences of collapsed structures.

• Chemical / hazardous-environment medevac.

• Training methodology so Ukrainian instructors can cascade the programme themselves.

Emergency response cannot be improvised after the emergency has happened. Before a team deploys, people must be selected and credentialed; equipment maintained; training materials prepared; communications and security arrangements checked; insurance and governance sustained; and logistics organised quickly.
