Story
Dear Parents and Guardians
Thanks again to all those who attended the group Trustee Board Meeting (executive meeting) on Tuesday 11th September.
As part of this meeting our Trustee Board reviews our accounts. Over the last 3 years we spend on average a little over £10,000 pa running our group. This covers things like membership costs, the rent of Thames Hall, insurance, badges and subsidising events. Indeed everything else you might expect that we need to deliver an enjoyable and safe program to around 80 young people in Cricklade.
As a group we also work hard to fund raise to support ourselves. We collect ink cartridges, deliver Christmas post, use Easy Fundraising, collect gift aid on your membership and run our annual duck race.
We have held our subscription at £100/year since before Covid but we have reached a point where we can not reliably cover our costs and have to take action. This is despite us being at full capacity in our sections and with a substantial waiting list.
Consequently we shall be moving our subscription to £120/year which allows us to more predictably cover costs. We will continue to collect this twice a year and using JustGiving so we can collect gift aid automatically.
We know another price rise is never good news and this decision is not taken lightly. We need to ensure Scouting can continue in Crickalde for future generations.
If you feel you may have issues in paying this then please contact us at martin.ferm@2ndcrickladescouts.org.uk in strictest confidence.
