We are underway into our 13th year of providing services and opportunities to 3rd to 8th grade boys east of the Anacostia river. This year we have a Mentor Manager who has recruited 23 new mentors to our ranks which vastly expands our ability to work with the boys.
After 13 years we are still finding new and exciting places to take the boys: On October 13th we went to the Kids Museum in Bethesda and this Saturday November 10th we are doing a Scavenger Hunt at the American History Museum.
On October 27th the mentors did a presentation on Black Inventors and Inventions. We have a trip to a working farm, a pirate ship, a play at Imagination Stage and a Dance Performance at Dance Place in February.
The goal is to give the boys experiences that they may not otherwise have; to teach the boys how to successfully navigate the world.
These things are expensive, each bus trip is $400; lunch for 15-20 boys is $150; then there is the admission price for our various adventures. We need your help to make these experiences happen. Pick the experience you would like to help with and help us make this happen.
