On Saturday 13 September, 7.45am the Mermaid community of open water swim-mers will be holding their 6th annual RNLI fundraiser on the beach at The Buckle, Seaford. All are welcome. Bring bathers, cake and a warm drink.

The Mermaids ever-growing community of swimmers receive a daily Weather Report via social media that includes sunrise and sunset, air and sea temperature ranges through the day, wind speed and direction, sea state and swell, tide times and local hazards to beware of, such as rips and currents. Information that helps the swimmers stay safe in the water, year-round.

The Mermaids have raised impressive funds over the last five years, directly helping Newhaven RNLI. Funds raised provide the charity's volunteers with the kit and equipment they need to save lives at sea.
