Merseyside Lowland Search and Rescue (MerSAR) are a voluntary organisation who provide Search and Rescue for the high risk and vulnerable missing people of Merseyside. This ranges from children to the elderly, who unfortunately for whatever reason gone missing and this can be due to several factors such as mental health, dementia, or abuse.
We are called to action by the Merseyside Police and are the only official ‘Lowland Rescue’ search team for Merseyside. ‘Lowland Rescue’ is our governing body and there are 36 ‘Lowland Rescue’ teams across the UK providing the same service, but each are independent charities and must raise their own funds to operate.
