Story
Cathy's story:
"I’ve been involved in Scouting for 16 years, and in my role as District Team Lead, I see first‑hand the positive impact it has on young people — helping them build confidence, resilience, practical life skills and lasting friendships. Scouting in Ingleborough District is a fantastic example of that impact at a local level.
Taking on a half marathon is a big personal challenge for both of us, physically and mentally. Training hasn’t always been easy, but knowing that every mile we run will help support local Scouting keeps us motivated to keep going.
Our goal is to raise £4,000, which will go towards supporting activities, equipment and opportunities for the young people in Ingleborough District, helping ensure that Scouting there continues to thrive and offer life‑changing experiences.
The Manchester Half Marathon is known for its incredible atmosphere and iconic city‑centre route, and we’re proud to be taking it on together for a cause that genuinely means so much to us.
Any donation — big or small — would be hugely appreciated. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would also make a real difference.
Thank you so much for your support, if you do not wish to donate. Then please share."
“From youth member to parent and volunteer — Scouting has been part of our family for years. Thank you for helping support its future.”
