Visit the charity's profileOn 24th September this year an earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale struck Azad Kashmir causing serious damage to roads and homes.
The initial tremor, which was been followed by many aftershocks, destroyed homes, businesses and livelihoods in the poor villages surrounding Mirpur City and Jaatlan Khari Sharif leaving thousands of people homeless.
A delegation of members from Luton Central Mosque and Luton Community will be personally going to the affected region at their own expense and seek to help the most needy.
Criteria for those receiving the Aid will be as follows.
1) the most needy
2) women & children
3) severely damaged houses
We will not be providing food, blankets, tents as there is plenty available on the ground. Our main focus will be to help rebuild homes.
We already have people on the ground gathering information and logistics on who is the most deserving and most needy.
Mian Muhammad Welfare Trust (registered charity in Pakistan) has pledged to match the total amount raised from Luton Central Mosque.
100% of your donations will be used to help those in need, all the stakeholders are welcome to go with nominated representatives to distribute the aid.
