The Chronicle Sunshine Fund has proudly worked alongside Gainford Group and Tyne Tees Models for 4 years through the annual Miss Newcastle final and in June 2019, finalists raised a sensational £30,000 which has gone a huge way in supporting local babies, children and young adults with disabilities through funding life-changing, specialist equipment. The Equipment funded is not available to children within the region through the NHS or social services and so the charity is a lifeline for many families.

In 2018, the reigning 2017 Miss Newcastle, Alisha Cowie, was crowned Miss England and has since been a fantastic ambassador for the North East through her extensive fundraising for various charities, whilst proving to be an inspirational role model for young women in the UK. This year, the prestigious Miss England final will therefore be hosted in Newcastle on Thursday 1st August. 2018 Miss Newcastle, Rebecca Gormley, will be representing the North East in the final this year.,

The Chronicle Sunshine Fund have been nominated as the official local charity to benefit from the fundraising of over 50 regional finalists in the run up to the final.
