Story

Mito is on Coronation Street... and Mito Is On My Street.

Thank you for donating to The Lily Foundation's Mito Is On My Street campaign. By doing so, you're helping to improve the lives of people affected by mitochondrial disease.

This year, millions of people in the UK have been made aware of mitochondrial disease (mito) thanks to the Coronation Street story line about Oliver Battersby, a boy who develops the condition. We're asking our supporters to share the message 'Mito Is On My Street' to remind people that, sadly, the agony unfolding for the Battersbys on Corrie is being lived by hundreds of real families every day.

Our charity is dedicated to helping those affected. We do this by providing the vital care and services they need, educating the public and healthcare professionals about the condition, and funding medical research towards treatments. Every day we are making a difference but we can't do this without your support.

Like all charities we are facing unprecedented challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic, at a time when people with mito are more vulnerable than ever. Please give generously, so together we can keep working to improve lives and end the heartbreak of mito.
