Award-winning beauty and fashion photographer Amanda Akokhia will be hosting an Exhibition of her latest work, 'Mirror Mirror on the wall', at the stunning Fiume Restaurant, Battersea Power Station in association with charity Models of Diversity to highlight the need for more representation, diversity and inclusion in the fashion, beauty and media industry.
As a photographer who shoots major beauty and fashion campaigns, Amanda noticed a lack of people with disabilities and visible differences in advertising and wanted to do a project that reflects our society and represents the TRUE beauty ideals.
Amanda will be fundraising on the evening for Models of Diversity, a registered charity established by ex-model and campaigner Angel Sinclair dedicated to broadening the modelling, beauty and media industry and opening it up to the beautiful people that we dont often get to see on our Instagram feeds, billboards, TV ads and runways.
We want to empower expression of individuality, and to challenge the suffocating, unrealistic beauty standards peddled by society and the media by campaigning for more brands to work with under-represented models of all shapes, forms, colours, abilities, genders, and identities across the globe.
