We believe that being born into poverty does not mean you cannot learn or successfully pass examinations, and it does not mean that you cannot grow up contributing to society and making life better for others. We also believe that education is the key to escape the poverty trap.

Story

The Ursula Parry Building – Our New Classroom Block

Thanks to a very generous legacy we were able to construct a new block of classrooms, and this became operational in 2019. The new block was named after its benefactor: The Ursula Parry Building, it was originally built with 5 ground floor classrooms and a large open space on the first floor, which was used for school assemblies and meetings. The foundations were designed and built to enable second and third floors to be added at some time in the future.

The legacy also enabled the building of proper toilets for students and staff, including washing facilities with running water. This has improved the health of our community.

In 2023 3 classrooms were erected on the first floor of the Parry building

We have successfully completed three of the five upstairs classrooms in the new block already, and now we are now working to complete the final two.

In addition the corrugated iron classrooms that were built ~2008 have reached the end of their lives and are unsafe for use.

We would appreciate any help that can be given in raising the funds to get these classrooms finished, and giving these children the best possible chance to succeed.
