On Sunday 2nd July, ten of our team members completed the Liverpool - Chester - Liverpool cycle ride.
The team took part in this challenge to raise funds for the Momentum Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the group, set up to ensure that the Momentum Group contributes to its local communities.
The cost of living crisis has hit parts of Merseyside hard, with recent research showing that children in the North of England are most affected by cost increases. In the Spring, food bank usage was up 37% year on year and the winter saw many families having to choose between heating and eating. Local community centres and food banks have, unfortunately, become a lifeline for many people, and the Momentum Foundation hopes to make a difference by supporting such groups.
The Momentum Foundation is currently open for community groups to apply for grants to those charities that are supporting Merseyside communities with the cost of living crisis. Using our expertise, resources and knowledge, the Foundation will contribute to the sustainability of key community groups, helping them save on core costs and allowing them to focus on supporting their communities.
We have set an annual fundraising target of £10,000, so please donate to help raise money for our local community. Thank you to all of our partners, suppliers and team members who have donated!
The Momentum Foundation is managed by the Community Foundation for Merseyside.
