School budgets have never been tighter, and now a school has only £7000 per year to manage, maintain and improve school buildings and outdoor areas. As you can imagine, this is near impossible without the support from our Parents' Association.
Our kids work so hard during the day, and as part of our virtues curriculum, we teach our children how to relax - mindfulness is so important.
We are very fortunate at Moor Hall as we do have beautiful grounds however they are very tired and are in need of improvement. In 2023, we funded the new trim trail. Last year, we raised money to replace the mud patch on our EYFS/KS1 play area with astroturf and included some beautiful plant boxes (designed, planted and maintained by our Eco Council) and we have benches here where we can sit with friends, play games and even work outside when the weather permits.
The next phase is to replace a patch of mud (should be grass!) in our KS2 playground. This is a high traffic area and sits outside some of our classrooms. It's currently wasted space as it can get very muddy and slippery and there's not really a way that it can be used for playing in its current state. Our next phase is to astroturf (whilst we are not pro-removing green, this is the best way of maintaining the land and keeping it looking nice and we do have a huge field to the back of the school which will remain grass) the area, include some balance beams, a small stage and an area children can play imaginative games and build friendships.
The next phase of our playground redevelopment will cost us approximately £30,000.
Thank you so much for helping us get closer to our target and getting our children the outdoor areas they deserve.
