Playground Phase 3

The next phase of our playground regeneration is to replace a patch of mud (should be grass) with astroturf for year round use. This area will be a reflection area with teepees, outdoor seating and spaces where children can chill and relax.

Closes 17/07/2025

Moor Hall Parents' Association raise vital additional funding for Moor Hall Primary School in Sutton Coldfield. This money is used for the 'nice' things that make a huge difference to every child's experience at school but an ever tightening school budget simply could not afford eg playground eqpt

Story

School budgets have never been tighter and now a school has only £7000 per year to manage, maintain and improve school buildings and outdoor areas. As you can imagine, this is near impossible without the support from our Parents' Association.

Our kids work so hard during the day, and as part of our virtues curriculum, we teach our children how to relax - mindfulness is important.

We are very fortunate at Moor Hall as we do have beautiful grounds, however they are very tired looking and are in need of improvement. In 2023, we funded the new trim trail. Last year, we raised money to replace the mud patch on our EYFS/KS1 playground with astroturf and included some beautiful plant boxes (designed, planted by and maintained by our school Eco council) and we have benches here where children can sit with friends, play games and even work outside (weather permitting).

The next phase is to replace the patch of mud (should be grass!) in our KS2 playground. This is a high traffic area and sits outside some of our classrooms. It's currently wasted space as it can get very muddy and slippery - there's not really a way it ca be used for playing in its current state. This phase of the regeneration is to astroturf (best for maintenance and practicalities too) the area, include some balance beans, a small stage area, some teepees for chilling in, a sheltered hut area and leave some of the area free for children to play their own games here. It's a great area to relax, reflect, build friendships and explore.

The next phase of our playground redevelopment will cost approximately £30,000.

Thank you so much for helping us get closer to our target and getting our children the outdoor area they deserve.
