Story

Earlier this week we had a call from a vet in Newport regarding a pug with a serious eye injury. It appears that this little guy was attacked by other dogs in his home, resulting in a horrendous protruding eyeball.

Sadly his owners couldn't afford to pay for his treatment, and he was not insured, so he has been signed over into our care. Unfortunately we weren't able to save his eye, so he underwent surgery to have it removed, and he will also receive treatment for a sore skin condition. We've decided to name him Moose.

At Hope Rescue we are so busy with stray dogs that we can rarely help dogs like Moose, but on this occasion we knew that he desperately needed our help, so the welfare team made the decision to say yes. And we know our supporters will agree that was the right thing to do.

We know that we ask a lot, but please consider helping us to cover Moose's vet bills. As a small community rescue, our resources are currently stretched to the limit with over 600 dogs needing our help since the start of the year.

Following his surgery, Moose has moved in with tot of our volunteer foster homes and is enjoying resting on the sofa.
