Story
For the past 4 years West Buckland School has provided life changing opportunities for Fijian pupils to study and live in the UK. These pupils known for their sporting prowess have been able to obtain internationally recognised qualifications and sporting honours during their time here.
The pupils have enriched our school here at West Buckland, through their strong moral values, sense of community, sporting excellence and infectious personalities.
We hope we can continue this program going forward and any support we can provide for these families making this life changing decision is much appreciated.
Starting on Wednesday the 21st we as a school community are looking to move the distance from West Buckland School to Fiji's capital, Suva.
The distance is 16,338KM, with over 800 pupils and staff at WBS that's less than 1.5KM a day each!
The challenge will finish at sports day where the total distance and funds will be announced.
There will be a prize for the top movers.
Anybody can contribute to the distance, and we encourage you all to set personal, family, and friendship challenges over the two-week period.
Pupils will be able to log their distances from their -
- Games lessons
- P.E lessons
- ECA Periods
- The fitness suite
- Fitness stand in the quad
- Sports day
- In their free time
